What?!... DYE?
The Devised Youth Ensemble will feature theatrical productions created and performed by the kids, based on themes that are important to them, and told in a manner that is authentic to their developing artistic sensibilities.
Downtown Youth Ensemble is the brain-child of a collective of Las Vegas based artists with a strong personal want to strengthen the core of creative artists in the area and improve the creative arts for the coming generations of Las Vegas.
The team behind The Downtown Youth Ensemble consists of experienced professional artists from all over the world with different experience as performing artists but with a similar background in devising theatre and a shared philosophy regarding the arts' societal importance.
What is devising theatre?
Devising theatre is the creation of theatre, with an emphasis on collaborate ensemble work.
To properly explore the artists voice, devising theatre explores every aspect of a theatrical production to find a unique communication between artist and spectator. Utilising a multitude of performance techniques in order to find and develop the truthful artistic voice that resonates with the artists' truthful self and thus delivers groundbreaking and honest art to their audience using any and all tools at their disposal.
DYE believes in the principles of dialog and active participation to foster education and expression. We want all of our students to develop their skill set, and push themselves to reach their potential and exceed their expectations.
